Product update

Oooh, a shiny new job application dashboard!

First posted on ApplyAll changelog.

We've been hard at work this fall, upgrading ApplyAll to make your job search more efficient than ever. In fact, we even locked ourselves in a cabin at Lake Tahoe for a week straight to finish the feature we're about to tell you about!

Today we're launching a new dashboard to manage your job applications, and view every single job description — even if the job has been removed by the employer.

Previously, everyone who signed up for ApplyAll was given a link to a spreadsheet, which looked something like this:

The old ApplyAll applications spreadsheet with job titles, companies, and posting links

This worked fine… for a while. But when companies took down a job, the job posting link would break, so you could no longer see the job description (gross!). And, on the technical side, the spreadsheet caused many behind-the-scenes bugs for us that slowed down your job applications (also gross!).

This week we are saying goodbye and good riddance to those spreadsheets forever and launching a new and improved experience.

Presenting… 🥁🥁🥁 Your new job application page.

If you already have an ApplyAll account you can open your new dashboard. You will also find the link to view your applications in your ApplyAll dashboard.

Why is this better?

  • You no longer have to switch between the ApplyAll dashboard and a spreadsheet in order to view your job applications.
  • You'll be able to forever view every single job description — even if the job has been removed by the employer.
  • We've added a Notes field so you can track the status or progress of each application.
  • We will soon be able to support other new features, like application analytics, that wouldn't be possible to do if we were still using spreadsheets.

Can I still use my spreadsheet?

  • No. You will still have access to your spreadsheet to view your historical job applications, but after this week we will no longer be adding applications to the sheet.
  • To see any new job applications sent on your behalf, you will need to use the new dashboard.

Thank you for trusting us with your job search, and of course, happy holidays!

P.S. Okay, so maybe I didn't lock the team inside the ENTIRE time. We made sure to get in a scenic hike on the last day with company mascots Jojo and Tater Tot, AKA Darth Tater.
