Description

About the team
The Long-Term Containment (LTC) team sits in the "Contain" phase of the risk lifecycle. While teams such as Rapid Response and Regulatory Response optimize for speed and near-term risk reduction, Long-Term Containment optimizes for thoroughness - durable enforcement work that prevents the same harm from resurfacing.

About the role
As a Youth Safety Analyst on the Long-Term Containment team, you will own the durable, systemic containment of youth-safety harms on the platform. Going beyond initial incident response, you will take a single escalation signal and expand it into the broader violating cluster, network, or behaviour pattern behind it, then build the enforcement and rules that keep that harm contained over time.

This is a hands-on, investigative role for someone who is equal parts critical thinker and technical practitioner. You will spend your time querying large datasets, forming and testing hypotheses about how youth-safety harms evade detection, and converting these into containment strategies using existing tools or automation eg. sweeps, rule logic, seed banks, and automation that scale beyond manual action. You will work closely with Risk Detection, Rapid Response, Account Risk Management, and the Issue Risk Prevention team, feeding your enforcement insights upstream so root causes get fixed rather than re-handled.

Responsibilities
- Investigate repeat youth-safety escalations across features (Accounts, Search, Video, Photo, Audio, LIVE, Comments) to find and close the enforcement gaps that let the same harm resurface.
- Expand individual escalation signals into the broader violating cluster, network, or behaviour pattern, taking durable containment action rather than one-off takedowns.
- Build and maintain containment strategies - sweeps, trend rules, seed banking, and automation-driven detection - and govern their precision and recall over time.
- Develop and build scripts and methodologies to detect and recall risk signals and clusters with high accuracy where there may not be existing tools to do so
- Write and refine queries against large datasets to size harm, surface emerging patterns, measure the impact of your enforcement, and decide where to focus next.
- Own and report on the enforcement actions and metrics for your assigned youth-safety topics, including escalation reduction, prevalence, discoverability, and recidivism.
- Partner with Risk Detection, Rapid Response, Account Risk Management, Policy, Product, and Operations to translate analysis into implemented containment, and feed insights to the Issue Risk Prevention team to drive root-cause remediation.
- Turn your findings into clear written analysis and recommendations for both technical partners and senior stakeholders, and help standardize containment methodologies and playbooks across regions.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, risk analysis, fraud or abuse investigations, intelligence analysis, or a related integrity domain within a tech platform, consulting firm, or regulatory environment.
- Strong critical thinking and investigative instinct: you can break an ambiguous problem into testable hypotheses, follow signals across systems, and distinguish a one-off incident from a systemic pattern.
- Technical data skills, including proficiency in SQL or equivalent querying and the ability to work with large datasets and visualisation tools to reach defensible conclusions. Familiarity with scripting (e.g. Python) for data analysis, workflow automation and risk detection & containment so we are not limited by existing tools.
- Solid understanding of the Trust & Safety risk lifecycle - detection, containment, and prevention - and how enforcement decisions hold up over time.
- Experience conducting root cause analysis and translating findings into concrete enforcement actions, rules, or recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to make complex analysis clear to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A proven, genuine commitment to safeguarding minors, handling sensitive content responsibly, and sustaining well-being in emotionally demanding work.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in youth safety, child protection, or other high-harm policy areas at scale.
- Hands-on experience building or tuning rule-based or automated detection systems, or applying machine learning to risk detection.
- Experience working in a global or multi-regional Trust & Safety team, and comfort partnering across Policy, Product, Engineering, and Operations.
- Ability to adapt quickly to evolving harms and ambiguous, fast-moving operational challenges.
