Job Description –

Mandates – MS SQL + Azure SQL DB

Seeking skilled Azure MS-SQL Developer to design, implement, and maintain MS-SQL databases and related Azure-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in SQL development, database performance tuning, and leveraging Azure services for modern data platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Mandatory

o

o Database Development & Review:

1. Design and develop complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers to support application requirements.

2. Create and optimize schema design, indexes, and database architecture for high-performance applications.

3. Perform code reviews for SQL code developed by team and ensure guidelines and quality of top notch compliance

o

o Performance Optimization:

1. Perform query performance tuning and troubleshooting.

2. Analyze database metrics and optimize for scalability and efficiency.

3. Address and resolve issues related to deadlocks, blocking, and other database performance concerns.

o

o Collaboration & Documentation:

1. Work with cross-functional teams to define database requirements.

2. Document database design, schemas, processes, and standards.

o Azure Data Solutions:

1. Develop and manage Azure SQL Databases and SQL Managed Instances.

2. Leverage Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Storage for ETL and data integration tasks.

3. Implement secure and scalable solutions using Azure RBAC, managed identities, and compliance standards.

o Data Operations:

1. Support database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

2. Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate databases into CI/CD pipelines.

3. Manage and monitor Azure SQL and database health using tools like Azure Monitor and Application Insights.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience with MS-SQL Server (2016 and above).

• Strong expertise in T-SQL programming, indexing, and query optimization.

• Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database, SQL Managed Instances, or on-premises to Azure migration.

• Certification in Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect).

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Nice to Have Qualifications

• Familiarity with Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, or similar.

• Proficiency in ETL workflows and data pipelines

• Knowledge of database security and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)

• Experience with DevOps practices and tools (Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD)

• Experience with Power BI or other reporting tools will be nice to have

• Knowledge of Python, C#, or other programming languages for integration will be nice to have

• Familiarity with NoSQL databases and hybrid cloud solutions will be nice to have
