Job description

X-Ray Technologist (Part-Time) – Oak Park & Oak Brook, IL

Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Pay: $26–$36/hour, based on experience Schedule: Part-time — two shift options available:

  • 0.2 FTE (~1 day/week, approx. 8 hours)
  • 0.6 FTE (~3 days/week, approx. 24 hours)

Days and hours fall within our standard clinic schedule (Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm, Friday 8:00am–3:00pm); specific days will be coordinated based on clinic need and your availability.

Exceptional orthopedic care, accessible to all — and we need you to help deliver it.

Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine has spent over 20 years building something rare: top-tier orthopedic care that's open to everyone — including patients on Medicaid, Medicare, or no insurance at all. With 16 locations across Chicagoland and 40,000+ patients treated, we're one of the fastest-growing independent orthopedic practices in the country.

We're growing our imaging team and looking for a part-time X-Ray Technologist who wants meaningful, flexible work in a clinic that actually stands for something.

What You'll Do

  • Perform extremity X-ray and fluoroscopic imaging to support diagnosis and treatment, following physician orders and ALARA principles
  • Prepare patients for procedures and walk them through what to expect
  • Room patients, collect vitals, and document accurately in the EMR (Epic)
  • Support clinical tasks like injection prep, wound care, DME, and pre/post-op care
  • Relay physician and PA instructions to patients about their treatment plans
  • Maintain imaging equipment, perform daily QC checks, and report issues promptly
  • Triage calls and pitch in where the team needs you

Who We're Looking For

You have a degree in Radiologic Technology and are either ARRT certified or on track to complete certification within 6 months of hire. Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety (or IDPH Radiologic Technologist) licensure is required to practice in this role.

Beyond credentials, we're looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working directly with patients and takes pride in their experience
  • Stays calm, adapts quickly, and looks for ways to make things run smoother
  • Is comfortable with a consistent but reduced weekly schedule
  • Is comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25–30 lbs as part of patient positioning
  • Speaks Spanish? That's a real asset in the communities we serve

New grads are welcome. If you have the degree and the drive, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Get

  • $26–$36/hour, based on experience
  • A consistent, predictable part-time schedule (choice of 0.2 or 0.6 FTE)
  • Pro-rated benefits eligibility where applicable (e.g., PTO, continuing education funds) — confirm specifics with HR
  • A team that's genuinely invested in your growth, in communities that need and appreciate this work every day

Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is an equal opportunity employer. Hablamos español.
