Job Purpose
The Workshop Foreman is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring that vehicle repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. The role includes managing technicians, maintaining productivity, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support workshop technicians.
- Allocate and monitor daily repair and service jobs.
- Perform quality control inspections before vehicle delivery.
- Assist with diagnosing complex vehicle faults.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Monitor workshop productivity and efficiency.
- Liaise with Service Advisors regarding repair progress.
- Maintain workshop equipment and housekeeping standards.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Qualified Motor Mechanic (Red Seal Trade Test).
- Valid driver's licence.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a qualified technician.
- At least 2 years' supervisory experience in an automotive workshop.
- Strong leadership, technical diagnostic, and communication skills.
