ES programs improve the functioning of the labor market by bringing together individuals who are seeking employment and employers who are seeking workers. The SC Works system provides jobseekers with career guidance, job referrals, assessments, and&nbsp;</span>résumé assistance. Free tools to assist employers include posting job openings, recruiting and screening candidates, and reviewing job market trends. South Carolina’s 12 local workforce development boards administer the SC Works Centers throughout the state.</p><p style="font-style: normal; margin: 0 0 8pt; color: inherit; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit">The Workforce Specialist reports to the <span style="color: inherit">Employment Services&nbsp;</span>Division in the Pee Dee Region. This role delivers a broad range of services to assist individuals in resolving barriers to employment and increasing skills to obtain or maintain employment.&nbsp;</span></p><p style="font-style: normal; margin: 0 0 8pt; color: inherit; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit"><strong style="font-weight: 700">This position may require scheduled travel to the following counties: Darlington, Marion, Marlboro, Chesterfield, Dillon and Florence.</strong></span></p><strong style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Key Responsibilities</strong><div style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0; margin: 0 0 8pt"><ul style="margin: 0 0 3pt"><li style="margin: 0 0 8pt"><span style="color: inherit">Educate individuals on DEW programs, policies, and services, assist with all services within the SC Works Center, and perform resource room activities and outreach.</span></li><li style="margin: 0 0 8pt"><span style="color: inherit">Ensure timely, professional, and attentive customer service.</span></li><li style="margin: 0 0 8pt"><span style="color: inherit">Collaborate with co-workers, management, and partner staff for scheduling activities.</span></li><li style="margin: 0 0 8pt"><span style="color: inherit">Refer qualified applicants to jobs posted through SC Works.</span></li><li style="margin: 0 0 8pt"><span style="color: inherit">Work directly with Business Consultants to match customers and clients to position openings.</span></li><li style="margin: 0 0 8pt"><span style="color: inherit">Develop relationships with community resources for seamless referrals.</span></li><li style="margin: 0 0 8pt"><span style="color: inherit">Promote SC Works services through community and center workshops and activities.</span></li><li style="margin: 0 0 8pt"><span style="color: inherit">Provide ongoing support to SC Works Centers and all Workforce programs.</span></li></ul></div><p style="font-style: normal; margin: 9pt 0 0; color: inherit; text-indent: 0"><strong style="font-weight: 700"><span style="color: inherit">If you’re ready to take on this challenge and help support South Carolina’s workforce system, please apply.
