Wiper (SF)

Maersk  is looking for competent Wiper with relevant seagoing experience, willing to be trained, challenged and expand their knowledge onboard our technically advanced container vessels with the best and latest machinery.

A key position in the engine department onboard one of the world’s largest Container shipping company where seafarers are onboarded and equipped to perform and contribute to deliver the vessel commitments. Seafarers are trained and guided in achieving their personal development and career advancement. We ensure to prioritize health and safety, promote diversity and inclusion and at all times carry out the upright practice both at sea and ashore.

Recruitment Criteria:
 - Minimum of 12 months sea service experience on foreign going ships
- Working knowledge of spoken English
- Basic knowledge of ISM, ISPS, and security related duties
- Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Knowledge of Emergency Procedures (Fire-Abandonship-Man overboard-Oil Spill)
- Awareness of Safety meetings, reporting near miss, incidents, accidents
- Certificates compliant to STCW 2010 Manila amendments requirements
- Minimum 12 months experience as Welder from Shipyard or work in any relevant Welding industry. A mandatory additional Maersk Training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:
- Use of engine room tools
- Function operation and repairs of various machineries and pumps in the engine room
- Technical terms used in the engine room
