Job description

Apply to become a When We Count Fellow!

What is the When We Count Voter Registration Fellowship?

In 2026, the DNC will launch a first-of-its-kind national youth fellowship program – When We Count – to train young supporters to organize and register Democratic voters on-the-ground in their local communities.

All Fellows will receive comprehensive, weekly training on voter registration and organizing best practices from senior political campaign operatives. Voter Registration tactics will include a mix of in person and relational organizing methods. Fellows will join a talented national network of emerging organizers who are passionate about electing Democrats and winning up and down the ballot in 2026.

Eligibility

This will be a paid, part-time fellowship program for supporters between the ages of 18 and 29.

Location

The first cohorts will launch in Arizona and Nevada in the spring of 2026, so interested candidates based in these two states should apply as soon as possible.

Interested applicants who live outside Arizona and Nevada are still encouraged to apply. Applications from other states will be considered as the fellowship may expand to additional states later in 2026 and in future election cycles.

Time Commitment & Compensation

Fellows are expected to work ten hours per week and will be compensated a semi-monthly stipend of $400. All active Fellows will have weekly registration goals and will be held accountable for reaching these goals.

Start Dates

The first cohorts will start in Arizona and Nevada in March and April of 2026, with additional cohorts onboarding throughout the summer. In the application, Fellows can indicate which month they would be available to start and participate in the program.
