Welder/Fitter

Position Overview:
Seeking Welder/Fitters for a fabrication facility in Rowley, MA. Openings are available for both Iron Welder/Fitters (experience preferred) and Structural Welders (training available for candidates with the right background).

Pay: $21–26/hr

Job Responsibilities:

• Layout and assemble steel components according to approved shop drawings.
• Tack weld parts onto structural members.
• Read and apply AWS welding symbols before welding.
• Weld steel components based on shop drawings and inspected fit-up requirements.
• Maintain a steady production pace while working with fabrication team members.
• Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy.
• Communicate any issues with drawings, fit-up, or workmanship.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Required Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings.
• Strong layout skills using tape measures, framing squares, protractors, lasers, and levels.
• Understanding of basic measurements, geometry, and fabrication processes.
• Ability to operate welding equipment and produce quality welds.
• Experience with SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, or STUD welding preferred.
• Ability to use welding tools including grinders, chipping hammers, needle guns, torches, and measuring equipment.
• Ability to safely operate shop overhead crane systems.

Certifications/Tools: No certifications required.
