Summary of Job Duties:

The Weevil Transit Driver operates a passenger van or other assigned large passenger vehicle on campus and city roadways. Drivers will follow a pre-determined route, with limited exceptions.

Safely transports UAM student passengers from origins to destinations.

Performs a prescribed pre-operational and post-operational safety maintenance check.

Completes motor vehicle safety and customer service training.

Assists with the creation of daily passenger manifests and records statistics for daily reports on paratransit service.

Must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills.

Regular, non-disruptive and reliable attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Hours: Approximately 6 Hours per Bi-Weekly (Fall and Spring Semesters Only)
Primarily Normal Business Hours, 1 Weekend Bi-Monthly

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the operation of large passenger vehicles

• Knowledge of federal and state traffic laws

• Knowledge of basic travel requirements and restrictions

• Ability to perform routine tasks and to understand and follow oral and written instructions

• Ability to exercise excellent customer service skills

• Must meet driving record requirements, as set forth by the University
