It plays a critical part in safeguarding regulatory compliance and optimizing facility performance, while supporting construction and improvement projects. Through proactive maintenance and accurate recordkeeping, this position helps sustain essential public services and operational efficiency.</p><p>The following list highlights the main responsibilities of this position. Employees may be asked to take on other responsibilities as needed to support the team and department.</p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Ensure reliable operation of the City’s water and wastewater systems by maintaining, repairing, and upgrading electrical equipment at lift stations, well water pumping stations, and related facilities.</li><li>Monitor and maintain critical components, including pumps, wet wells, electrical controls, storage tanks, piping, valves, sensors, and SCADA monitoring systems, to support efficient and compliant operations.</li><li>Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation to ensure accountability and regulatory compliance.</li><li>Respond to operational and maintenance emergencies, including SCADA system alarms and disaster situations, to minimize service disruptions.</li><li>Support construction, improvement, and modernization of water and wastewater facilities as needed.</li><li>Perform other related duties to sustain essential public services and operational efficiency.</li></ul><undefined><strong><u>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</u></strong></undefined><br><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>High School Diploma or equivalent is required.</li><li>Five (5) years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.</li><li>Level II Wastewater Collections, Class C Ground Water Treatment, or Class C Surface Water Treatment certifications are required within three (3) years of employment. </li><li>Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.<undefined><br></undefined></li></ul><p style="margin: 0"><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</u></strong></p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, drawings, code specifications, and SCADA monitoring equipment, including the ability to interpret technical manuals and maintenance documentation.</li><li>Skill in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment and controls to ensure reliable operation of water and wastewater facilities.</li><li>Skill in effective verbal and written communication, with the ability to maintain positive working relationships across departments, contractors, vendors, and community partners.</li><li>Ability to work independently under general supervision, prioritize tasks, and respond to operational and maintenance emergencies in a timely manner.</li><li>Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation to support compliance and operational accountability.</li></ul><br><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify"><strong><u>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</u></strong></p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">This position requires the ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally. Subject to vision hearing and talking constantly; standing, sitting, walking, handling, bending, twisting, climbing, balancing and foot controls frequently; lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling reaching, fine dexterity, kneeling, crouching and crawling occasionally.</p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify"><br></p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify"><strong><u>WORK ENVIRONMENT</u></strong></p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">Working conditions involve occasional exposure to variable and/or extreme weather conditions, vehicle traffic, heavy equipment, machinery with moving parts, electrical currents up to and including 480V 3 Ph, confined spaces, hazardous chemicals, and infectious diseases. Utilizes body harnesses, confined space breathing equipment, and/or other personal protective equipment as required.</p><br><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">This is a<strong><em> safety sensitive position.</em></strong></p><br>
