ISMIRA Agency actively recruiting for position ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN for Virgin Voyages!

The Electrical Technician assists the 1^st Electro-Technical Officer/2^nd Electro-Technical Officer in the completion of day to day activities in the Electrical Department.

WORK CONDITIONS:

• Work on board brand new company vessels
• Be a part of special Virgin Voyage’s lifestyle and philosophy and grow together
• Contract length - 4-6 months for most positions, for entry positions - 7 months
• Free food, accommodation, coffee + soft drinks and also wifi (though limited speed) for crew
• The employer is going to provide or reimburse expenses for the following:
  - STCW certification
  - Joining tickets
  - Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME)
  - Necessary Visas
  - Joining expenses, such as transfers, hotel accommodations, subsistence

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the safe and efficient repair, maintenance and testing of all electrical equipment and systems aboard the vessel.
• Perform duty electrician call out duties during night hours as per the ships rota ensuring prompt attention is given to safety issues and passenger complaints.
• Repair and maintenance of all Hotel electrical installations including the Galley.
• Permitted to only operate and work on LV circuits and equipment <220V unsupervised.
• Ensure that planned maintenance assigned to their discipline is conducted and reported.
• Partake in inspections, trainings and meetings as instructed by the Head of Department.
• Other tasks pertaining to departmental operations as instructed by the Head of Department.
• Ensures that the set standards are kept.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 21 years old
• MANDATORY minimum 18 months experience on board PASSENGER vessel
• All certificates as required by the STCW code for this position.
  
• Experience in dry dock is preferred
  
• Must hold RME or REE license
• Must hold Electro-Technical Rating Certificate (ETR)
• All certificates as required by the STCW code for this position
• VERY GOOD command of English Language
