Job Description

This role will lead and manage all litigation matters for UOB (Thai) Public Company Limited, ensuring legal compliance and protecting the bank's interests across a diverse range of legal disputes.

• Oversee and manage all aspects of litigation, including commercial disputes, regulatory actions, employment claims, and other legal proceedings involving the bank.

• Develop and implement effective litigation strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel.

• Supervise and direct external law firms, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality legal representation.

• Provide expert legal advice and guidance to senior management and business units on potential litigation risks and implications.

• Conduct thorough legal research, analysis, and due diligence related to ongoing and potential litigation.

• Prepare and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.

• Represent the bank in court, arbitration, mediation, and other dispute resolution forums as required.

• Negotiate settlements and resolutions to minimize financial exposure and reputational risk.

• Monitor changes in laws and regulations relevant to the banking industry and litigation, advising on necessary adjustments to bank policies and procedures.

• Manage litigation budgets and track expenses effectively.

• Develop and deliver training sessions on litigation avoidance and best practices to relevant departments.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.) from a reputable university. Master's degree (LL.M.) is a plus.

• Admitted to practice law in Thailand.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in litigation, with a significant portion gained within the banking or financial services industry, or at a top-tier law firm specializing in financial sector litigation.

• Proven track record of successfully managing complex litigation cases from inception to resolution.

• In-depth knowledge of Thai laws and regulations relevant to banking, finance, and commercial disputes.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Thai and English.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.

• Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.

• High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
