Job Description:

This dynamic position is responsible for developing and administering the volunteer service program at the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home; performs related work as required.

M/Tu/We/Fri: 8:00am-4:30pm and Th: 1130am-8:00pm.

Salary: $19.145/hour (Breakdown: $16.145/hour + $3.00 differential)

 

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in social science or high school education plus five years of experience in long term care or psychiatric setting and organizing volunteers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES : (These are needed to perform the work assigned.) Ability to: work with veteran patients and their families; carry on rapport with volunteers and participate in public relations functions.

 

Examples of Work: Recruits, interviews, trains, orients, and places volunteers where services are needed and requested. Plans, implements, and coordinates all volunteer programs and services. Accepts, catalogs, and distributes donations. Schedules, plans, and conducts tours of the facility. Determines, obtains, and maintains all supplies and equipment necessary to carry on the volunteer program. Maintains necessary records and prepares appropriate activity reports.
