Unlocking the Power of Trusted Data

Shaping the Future of Data Policy and AI Governance

Fivetran is seeking a Vice President of Government Affairs to lead its government relations and policy strategy at a pivotal moment for data infrastructure and AI. As organizations increasingly rely on Fivetran’s automated data integration platform to centralize, secure, and transform their data, the need for proactive engagement with policymakers and regulators has never been greater.

Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, the VP of Government Affairs will define and execute Fivetran’s approach to lobbying, political engagement, and public policy. This highly strategic, externally facing role will influence policy outcomes, build relationships with key decision-makers, and coordinate company-wide engagement on government affairs. The successful candidate will partner closely with executive leadership to elevate Fivetran’s presence in policy discussions and navigate complex regulatory and competitive dynamics.

Responsibilities include building and owning Fivetran’s government affairs function, designing comprehensive lobbying and policy engagement strategies, developing political engagement initiatives, and establishing relationships with policymakers, regulators, and industry coalitions. The role also involves leading the development of policy positions, deploying AI-enabled policy tracking, supporting regulatory strategy, and acting as the central point for all government affairs communications.

Candidates should bring 12+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or political strategy, with a proven track record in tech or highly regulated industries. Deep expertise in U.S. political and regulatory systems, a strong network across federal, state, and local stakeholders, and exceptional communication and influence skills are essential. The ability to operate independently and shape policy narratives in a fast-moving environment is critical.
