Veterinary Technician Assistant - All Valley Animal Care Center

All Valley Animal Care Center is looking for Veterinary Technician Assistants to join their AMAZING team!

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting our veterinary technicians with patient restraint for blood draws, taking radiographs, bandage changes, etc.
• Cleaning surgical equipment, tools, and laundry
• Surgical material sterilization with both steam and gas autoclaves
• Restocking items throughout the hospital
• Helping to maintain clean kennels and hospital treatment areas
• Assisting with emergency treatment set up and documentation
• Assisting with patient care and treatment for stable boarding and hospitalized animals and documenting their treatments
• Cleaning areas of the hospital that need attention or disinfecting

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of animal methods of care, restraint and handling of animals and the techniques used in the care and feeding of animals
• Knowledge of veterinary medical practices and procedures
• Ability to handle and restrain large and small animals
• Ability to lift animals onto a table (50 Lb individually)
• Skill in operating medical equipment
• Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, the genera public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

Education & Experience Qualifications:

• HS diploma or equivalent
• Some schooling in the veterinary field is preferred but on the job training is available
• Must have Mac/PC skills, including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
