Shape the Future of a High‑Performing Team – Veterinary Director

Greencross Diamond Creek

If you’re ready to step into meaningful leadership, or you’re a seasoned leader craving a calmer, greener lifestyle, Diamond Creek offers the perfect next chapter. This role blends clinical excellence, genuine people‑first leadership, and the lifestyle benefits of a leafy, welcoming community just outside Melbourne.

Why Lead at Diamond Creek

Diamond Creek gives you the best of both worlds: a friendly, village‑style community surrounded by bushland, walking trails, the Yarra River, and open green space, yet only a short trip to Melbourne. It’s peaceful, family‑friendly, and known for its easy pace of life. Think cafés, local shops, schools, and plenty of space to breathe without losing access to the city when you want it.

What Makes This Clinic Special

Greencross Diamond Creek is a place where high clinical standards meet genuine support. The clinic feels calm, team‑focused, and well‑balanced. Nurses love the chilled, cooperative vibe; vets value having an approachable PM who listens, understands, and creates a realistic workload. This is a clinic where your voice matters and your leadership will make a meaningful difference.

You’ll be supported by a team of vets with fantastic strengths, including:

  • Dr Joy, admired for her calm, thoughtful approach and quiet leadership.
  • Dr Suzie, who holds a membership in ECC and splits her time with GVH.
  • Dr Huong, with interests in soft tissue surgery and pain management.

They’re compassionate, communicative, resilient, and deeply team‑oriented, the kind of group who thrives under steady, supportive leadership.

Your Leadership Role

As Veterinary Director, you’ll have the autonomy and trust to shape the clinic while still being backed by strong operational support.

You will:

  • Lead and mentor a team of talented vets and proactive nurses
  • Champion evidence‑based, best‑practice medicine
  • Build a culture where communication is open, the workload is sustainable, and people feel heard
  • Influence workflow, protocols, and clinical standards
  • Guide the clinic’s growth while maintaining its warm, community‑first identity

You’ll also have real, hands‑on support from your Regional Manager, Regional Clinical Director, and General Manager. If you’re an emerging leader, this is a safe place to step up with structured leadership training available.

A Balanced Approach to Leadership

We understand the demands of the role, which is why we prioritise realistic expectations and a healthy work rhythm.

You’ll enjoy:

  • No after-hours and no Sunday shifts
  • A flexible roster that respects your time
  • Support from nearby emergency hospitals for seamless referrals
  • Heidi Health AI notetaking, helping you wrap up on time
  • A manager who leads by example in work–life balance

Professional Growth & Recognition

At Greencross, your leadership journey is backed by:

  • Industry-leading education and leadership programs
  • Opportunities to attend and present at Australia’s largest Clinical Conference
  • Comprehensive mental health and wellbeing support
  • A national network of collaborative, progressive clinicians

Exceptional Benefits

  • Competitive salary plus leadership bonuses
  • Paid AVA or Vet Board registration
  • Complimentary VIN membership
  • Unlimited internal CE
  • 1 week paid study leave (convertible to annual leave)
  • Industry-leading parental leave
  • Discounts across Greencross GP and specialist clinics, Petbarn stores, and partner retailers
  • Relocation allowance and visa sponsorship available
