Job description

Greencross Vets Baldivis is a busy, friendly clinic in Perth’s southern suburbs, just a short drive from some beautiful beaches and coastal walks. We have a loyal client base, a varied small animal caseload and a supportive team who genuinely enjoy working together.

We are looking for a Veterinary Associate to join us as a regular Saturday vet. This would suit someone who is confident in general practice, enjoys a mix of consults and surgery and is looking to pick up regular weekend work, with the option to discuss extra shifts during the week if that is of interest.

You will be part of a wider Greencross network across Perth, with plenty of support, case discussion and shared learning. The team also has the backing of an experienced Area Manager and Regional Clinical Director, so you will never feel like you are working on your own.

About the role

When you join Greencross Baldivis, you will be joining an energetic, pet loving team with a strong focus on patient care and client relationships.

In this role you will:

  • Work regular Saturdays, with the opportunity to discuss additional weekday shifts if you would like more hours

  • See a mix of consults and routine surgery, depending on your preferences and the needs of the clinic

  • Have access to 20 minute appointments for vaccinations and wellness checks and 30 minute appointments for sick pets, so you have time to do a thorough job

  • Be supported by an experienced nursing team and a network of vets across nearby Greencross clinics

You will also have access to Heidi, our AI powered consult note taking assistant that helps capture histories and clinical notes during appointments. This means less time on the computer and more time focused on your patients, with notes finished on time.

What you will be doing

Your typical Saturday will include:

  • Providing personalised, professional care to patients and their owners

  • Performing routine consultations and, where appropriate, routine surgical procedures

  • Using evidence based approaches for diagnostics, treatment plans and follow up

  • Communicating clearly with clients and the team to ensure continuity of care

What we are looking for

  • A veterinarian with a BVSc or DVM (or equivalent) that is recognised by the AVBC and eligible for registration in Western Australia

  • Some experience in small animal general practice, with confidence in routine consults and surgery

  • Someone who enjoys being part of a team, values good communication and wants to provide high quality care to every patient

  • A vet who is comfortable working independently on Saturdays, with support available by phone or through the wider Greencross network if needed

What we offer

As part of the Greencross network, you will have access to:

  • A competitive salary, reflective of your skills and experience

  • Four weeks annual leave and one week study leave for full time equivalent roles, with these entitlements applied on a pro rata basis for part time team members

  • Generous continuing education support, including VIN membership and your choice of AVA or veterinary registration fees covered for full time equivalent roles, pro rata for most part time arrangements

  • Access to Heidi AI consult note taking to help with histories and records and reduce admin outside of consults

  • Access to mental health and wellbeing support, including 24/7 confidential counselling through our EAP Telus program

  • A parental leave program offering 6 weeks at full pay or 12 weeks at half pay for eligible permanent team members (pro rata)

  • The opportunity to attend our annual Greencross Clinical Conference on the Gold Coast, one of Australia’s largest veterinary conferences

  • Staff discounts on veterinary services and retail products across our Greencross clinics and Petbarn network

Most benefits apply to full time equivalent roles and are available on a pro rata basis for part time team members, depending on hours worked and eligibility.

Additional information

At Greencross Vets, we are committed to your growth, wherever you are in your career. As one of the largest veterinary groups in Australia, we offer structured development, online learning modules, workshops and cross clinic mentoring.
