ES programs improve the functioning of the labor market by bringing together individuals who are seeking employment and employers who are seeking workers. The SC Works system provides jobseekers with career guidance, job referrals, assessments, and </span>résumé assistance. Free tools to assist employers include posting job openings, recruiting and screening candidates, and reviewing job market trends. South Carolina’s 12 local workforce development boards administer the SC Works Centers throughout the state.</p><p style="font-style: normal; margin: 0 0 8pt; color: inherit; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit">The Veteran Workforce Consultant is in the <span style="color: inherit">Employment Services </span>division in the Trident Region. The role performs customer focused case management and career planning to identify barriers to employment and develop solutions for clients. The consultant will conduct needs assessments, assist with the development of individual employment plans, provide focused services, and educate individuals regarding DEW programs, policies, and services. This role will also provide assistance with all services as needed within an SC Works Center. </span></p><p style="font-style: normal; margin: 0 0 8pt; color: inherit; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit">This position requires scheduled travel to the following counties: <span style="color: inherit">Berkeley, </span>Charleston, and Dorchester.</span></p><strong style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Key Responsibilities</strong><ul style="margin: 10px 0 3pt; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><li><span style="color: inherit">Conduct needs assessments and assists in developing Individualized Employment Plans.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Provide career counseling, work search activities, and skill advancement information.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Assist with ES programs like Wagner-Peyser, TAA, MSFW, and Veteran Services Program.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Greet customers, perform initial assessments, and refer them to appropriate programs.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Review Veteran Intake forms and schedules comprehensive assessments.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Provide Workforce services operated by SC DEW in SC Works Centers.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Refer work ready clients to Business Consultants and notify them to jobs posted through SC Works.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Develop relationships with community resources for seamless referrals.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Provide ongoing support to SC Works Centers and all Workforce programs.</span></li></ul><p style="font-style: normal; margin: 9pt 0 0; color: inherit; text-indent: 0"><strong><span style="color: inherit">If you’re ready to take on this challenge and help support South Carolina’s workforce system, please apply.
