Job description

We, EOS - world market leader for industrial 3D printing, are looking for you to support our Strategic Design Team in Krailling. (hybrid working up to 50% possible)

At EOS, we're more than just a team; we're a community united by technology, where every action is a step towards meaningful change, and our independence is the cornerstone of our mission to make the world a better place for everyone.

Your Mission

  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to define, prioritise, and deliver UX and usability requirements across systems, periphery, workflows, and operator safety leveraging user-focused research.
  • Ensure ergonomics, accessibility, and regulatory requirements are embedded from concept through to series production, and actively contribute to scope, trade-off, and launch decisions where usability or customer value are impacted.
  • Track and communicate UX progress and risks through regular reviews to provide clear UX input into stage-gate and development decision-making.
  • Lead and support customer research activities (site visits, interviews, usability testing, customer panels) to translate insights into requirements, design directions, and validated concepts and solutions.
  • Analyse how UX decisions influence customer value, value propositions, and overall business outcomes, and co-design manufacturable solutions that close critical usability gaps in hardware and workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure UX solutions are robust, compliant, manufacturable, and ready for production, contributing to shared standards, tools, methods, and UX/Industrial Design governance at EOS.
  • Help establish a unified UX Design language and consistent ways of working across machines, periphery, environments, and training touchpoints to ensure a coherent user experience.

Your Talents

  • Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Human Factors, Ergonomics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working on physical products or industrial systems, ideally in a complex, regulated environment.
  • Practical experience collaborating with engineering teams and working within product development processes & the ability to translate abstract user needs into concrete, buildable solutions.
  • Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on, and curious about the business impact and market fit for EOS products.
  • Strong understanding of usability engineering, ergonomics, and human-centred design for hardware and a strong awareness of norms, standards, and regulation implications on machine design and operation.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior technical & strategic stakeholders.
  • Strong in both German and English.

Our Benefits

  • Flexible working time models, 30 days of vacation
  • Travel allowance for public transport, job bike, parking spaces, charging facilities for electric vehicles
  • Childcare allowance
  • Possibility of personal timeout
  • Health offerings, including a subsidized Wellhub membership (gyms, classes, online training)
  • Company restaurant
  • Targeted further education opportunities within our LMS
  • Corporate Benefits for employees
