Our Burnie campus is a co-ed K-10 school that is blessed with a spacious and modern campus. While the school community is small, the learning culture is strong and the potential to grow is great.

About the Role

ACC Burnie is seeking to appoint a temporary, full-time (1.0FTE), Upper Primary school classroom teacher for Term 4 2026 only. This is covering a teacher on Long Service Leave. Ongoing employment in 2027 may be a possibility. Majority of curriculum planning has been set up for the whole term and there are currently 17 children in the class.

The successful candidate will need to have the capacity to:

  • Actively lead the Christian formation of students;
  • Actively lead in delivering Pastoral Care from a genuine Christian faith;
  • Contribute to an inclusive approach to learning and a cross cultural understanding in our students;
  • Develop an approach to education that is biblically grounded, Christ focused, culturally engaging, and academically rigorous. Preference would be given to teachers familiar with an Explicit Instruction model of teaching;
  • Teach the prescribed curriculum within a conducive learning environment to develop student’s interests, skills and abilities; and
  • Contribute to the school community by participating in staff meetings, extra-curricular tasks, and liaising with parents where appropriate.
