TW - VP, Safety and Quality

Air Liquide Advanced Materials (ALAM) is an industry leader for advanced materials for thin film applications. This recently established global company combines Voltaix® specialty gas expertise with ALOHATM advanced precursors to meet the stringent demands of innovative deposition applications. ALAM was established with the objectives of maximizing growth opportunities and maximizing Group profit under a global business model.

PURPOSE

To provide executive leadership in the critical areas of Safety and Quality. Safety is the foundation of business excellence. Quality is a condition of sustainable business relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES

SAFETY

Lead the Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) organization to achieve superior results. Protecting our employees, community, customers and environment are conditions of operation and the foundation of business excellence.

Drive and support a culture based upon AL Group values and the ALAM critical priorities of safety, quality, customer satisfaction, growth, profit, and engaged employees.

Develop and implement the HSES structural foundation needed to sustain a rapidly growing global business.

Develop and implement 3 and 5 year HSES global organizational plans to proactively support the continued growth and expansion of the ALAM business by implementing strategy through:

• Drive effectiveness, and reliability of quality & safety activities to optimize resources, priorities spending, and ensure that targets and standards are met.

• Evaluate the results of quality assurance activities and prepare recommendations for CEO about significant changes that need to be made to the organization's manufacturing processes, systems, technology, raw materials, inputs, or vendors.

• Liaise with the functional and operational area ELT, for example in R&D, production, maintenance, engineering, or supply to develop Quality & Safety strategies.

• Liaise with external suppliers (for example equipment vendors and raw materials suppliers) to ensure that their products meet the organization’s quality & safety standards and that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.

• Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of quality & safety professionals to assure activities meet established targets and standards.

Drive accountability for safety at all levels in the organization.  

Team with Engineering and Operations to understand, assess and mitigate design and operability risks for current and new processes.

Manage, implement and maintain the ALAM Industrial Management System.

Manage all ALAM HSES regulatory requirements to insure both local and global compliance.

-Ensure customer satisfaction through reliable delivery of consistently high quality products and services. Quality excellence is a condition of sustainable business relationships.

-Develop and implement 3 and 5 year plans for the global quality organization to proactively support the continued growth and expansion of the ALAM business.

-Develop and create a global quality infrastructure and culture that will drive ALAM to best in class.

-Establish and maintain relationships with quality management at all key end use customers.

-Partner with ALEUS and the electronics global affiliates to create, implement and realize a consistent vision of best in class quality performance.

-Utilize ALAM expertise in Operational Excellence to support and drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.

-Establish, manage and maintain Statistical Process Control capabilities.
