Job Summary

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The team member frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Must be able to load and move up to 400 lbs. with the use of material handling devices (hand carts, etc.). Must be able to stand and walk for long durations upon multiple surfaces.

The Outbound Shift Supervisor is responsible for assisting in leading daily transportation and distribution operations and directing operations in the absence of the Supply Chain Manager.  This position will ensure adherence to all quality assurance programs, develop leadership skills in self and direct report team, while creating a safe working environment according to PJFS standards. This position ensures excellence in customer service through product availability, accurate loads within specified delivery/dispatch windows to Papa John's restaurants. The Outbound Shift Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Supply Chain Manager in the management of operations through the effective utilization of distribution team members and equipment. 

Job Details

The Outbound Shift Supervisor is responsible for assisting in leading daily transportation and distribution operations and directing operations in the absence of the Supply Chain Manager. This position will ensure adherence to all quality assurance programs, develop leadership skills in self and direct report team, while creating a safe working environment according to PJFS standards. This position ensures excellence in customer service through product availability, accurate loads within specified delivery/dispatch windows to Papa John's restaurants. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in daily activities of transportation team, including but not limited to backhauling and moving equipment between the Quality Control Center or equipment vendors and other suppliers as necessary. 
• Assist the Manager in confirming Drivers are in accordance with Department of Transportation “DOT” regulations (Drug and Alcohol Policy, hours of service, etc)  
• Maintain accurate and complete departmental records. 
• Assist the Supply Chain Manager in managing fleet and equipment repair and regular maintenance through the service provider.  Ensure equipment availability or source rental equipment. 
• Interact with and assist other departments to accomplish efficient and timely delivery. 
• Other duties as assigned. 
• Actively manage daily loading and receiving of product. Ensure FIFO (First In First Out) and other proscribed procedures are followed. 
• Monitor daily, weekly and monthly sanitation tasks to ensure the sanitation schedule is followed.   
• Supervise distribution team, hold regularly scheduled team meetings and assist with timely performance reviews to ensure efficiency and productivity of team. 
• Maintain accurate and complete departmental records. 
• Maintain an organized, efficient and sanitary warehouse and loading dock area to exceed PJFS quality standards  
• Ensure compliance with PJFS Safety, Sanitation and HACCP policies & procedures, federal, state and local regulations (OSHA, FDA, DOL) and all Papa John’s International, Inc., policies & procedures 

Education, Experience & Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two (2) years progressive supervisory experience required, preferably in transportation and distribution.
• Must have knowledge of FMHA/DOT regulations and OSHA safety requirements. 
• Valid CMV
• Working knowledge of onboard computer systems such as WMS and TMS.
