We are looking for a skilled and proactive Transport Planning Senior Designer to support international road design and infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on the UK & Ireland and US markets. Based in Poland, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop transport strategies, analyse traffic flows, and contribute to the planning of efficient and sustainable road networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Being accountable for traffic engineering and transport planning, modelling delivery and verification on a range of transport projects.

  • Working on Intelligent Transportation Systems ITS or Traffic Engineering & Operations TEO or Traffic Management Center TMC projects.

  • Working on feasibility studies, impact assessments, or mobility planning.

  • Designing and delivering traffic signals schemes.

  • Mentor, guide teams to achieve technical requirements and deliver the projects.

  • Provide technical leadership and quality oversight on transport planning and modelling deliverables.

  • Conduct transport and traffic analysis to support road design and infrastructure planning.

  • Collaborate with engineering, urban planning, and environmental teams on international projects.

  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.

  • Participate in project meetings and coordinate with global teams across time zones.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in transport planning methodologies.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Transport Systems Engineering.

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in transport planning/modelling.

  • Proven experience in transportation planning studies, traffic analysis and modelling, as well as the design of transportation and traffic infrastructure.

  • Experience in permanent and/or temporary traffic management design projects.

  • Strong proficiency in relevant software such as: LinSIG, SATURN or Synchro or Sidra or Junctions or TRICS or ArcGIS.

  • Familiarity with US or UK & Ireland transportation planning standards (e.g., FHWA, AASHTO, DFT/Highways England Standards, TSM Chapter 6 etc.).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).

  • Ability to work independently and in international, cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Transport Systems or Civil Engineering from Politechnika Warszawska or WAT or relevant University.

  • Experience with design software such as LinSIG, GuideSIGN, SignCAD or simillar.

  • Certification in transport planning or traffic engineering (e.g., Certificate of Professional Competence in Transport, postgraduate studies in transport infrastructure etc.).

  • Knowledge of sustainable mobility planning and smart transport systems.

  • Experience working on UK & Ireland/US DOT-funded projects or similar international infrastructure programs.
