As Transport Planner you will contribute to the success of the transport team, you will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day to day challenges in providing an effective transport plan.

Working on a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off nights, 18.00-06.00

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Key Duties of a Night Transport Planner:

  • Work with Transport and Warehouse teams, to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS
  • Subcontracting and planning orders from multiple sites across the UK
  • Planning daily workload of fleet: vehicles based on site and out bases
  • Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that may arise
  • Planning collections per day on a time critical basis
  • Maintaining and exceeding agreed KPI’s
  • Proactively look for continuous improvements
  • Be able to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale
  • Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business particularly at peak periods during the year
  • Efficiently utilise the Culina Group network in support Stobart’s when volumes dictate.
  • Previous Transport Planning experience
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Proficient in computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Work and Outlook
  • CPC Desirable but not required
  • Experience of planning 100+ tractor units across multiple depots
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurised environment
  • Customer focus on delivery performance
  • Commercially and Financially astute and driven to deliver exceptional results.
  • Experience of using a TMS system
  • Experience in an FMCG environment
  • Strong analytical and excel capability across standard formulas
