Job Description:

TrafoSchool is our global learning and development team for engineering. We focus on building skills, expertise, and career paths for engineers across all locations.

The team works closely with business, engineering experts, and external partners. Together, we design how people learn, grow, and develop in a global environment.

TrafoSchool is about more than training delivery.
It is about creating structured development, building competence, and shaping the future of engineering capabilities.

Position: Training & Development Senior Professional (Materials)

Location: Poland / Spain / Italy/ Germany (preferrable near one of our factories)

You will take ownership of how materials expertise is defined and developed across our global organization.
Your role will be to build a clear and structured framework that helps engineers across factories and HUBs develop the right knowledge and skills to work with materials effectively.

You will work closely with engineering teams, factories, and the Global Material Repository (GMR) to translate technical standards into practical competencies and development paths.
From skills mapping to training and certification, you will ensure consistency, clarity, and real impact across regions.

You will also use PLM Windchill as a key reference point, making sure that all learning content and competency frameworks are aligned with approved materials data and documentation.
All of this will happen within TrafoSchool — our global setup for building engineering capabilities and driving structured development at scale.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Materials Competency & Training Framework
Define competency expectations per material with GMR. Align with standards, engineering, and manufacturing needs. Ensure consistency across HUBs and factories.
  • Skills & Competence Mapping
Maintain competency matrices for materials experts. Define skill levels and validation criteria. Assess current vs. required competencies and identify gaps.
  • PLM Windchill Alignment
Use Windchill as the reference for materials data. Align competencies, training, and certifications with approved documentation. Ensure consistent usage across stakeholders.
  • Training, Certification & Provider Architecture
Define development paths and training structure (internal, suppliers, labs, external). Manage providers and establish certification schemes.
  • Training & Certification Coordination
Plan and execute training and certifications in line with TrafoSchool standards. Track completion and readiness.
  • Monitoring & Governance
Track KPIs on competencies, training, and certification coverage. Report gaps, risks, and improvements while supporting local execution.

Your background

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong background in materials engineering including qualification, insulation systems, testing, standardization, or reliability.
  • Experience working with factories, materials experts, laboratories, or suppliers.
  • Experience in skills and competence mapping or structured capability development.
  • Experience coordinating technical training and certification programs.
  • Working knowledge of PLM systems (i.e. Windchill) from a materials and documentation perspective.
  • Fluent English.
