Project Description:
In multi-warehouse supply chains, inefficient transfer orders can lead to excessive transportation costs, unbalanced inventory levels, and unnecessary operational workload. Within Shimano we want to improve the efficiency of inter-warehouse transfers by optimizing both transfer frequency and transfer volume. The objective is to design and develop an efficient logic that determines when a transfer should be triggered and how much stock should be moved to ensure inventory availability while minimizing unnecessary movements.
Goals of the project:
- Identify inefficiencies in existing inter-warehouse transfer logic
- Define criteria for optimal transfer timing and volume
- Develop a clear and implementable transfer logic
Evaluate the impact of the proposed logic on transfer frequency, transferred volume, and operational efficiency
Deliverables:
- Analysis of situation As-is
- Transfer logic
- Impact assessment
