Team & Role;

The U.S. Renewable Natural Gas desk trades a high value commodity market that interacts closely with regulated biofuels markets and rapidly growing demand for decarbonization products.  This role offers an opportunity to participate in commodity trading and renewables, complex systems for arbitrage, and a track to career paths in Trading, Operations, Analytics, and more within the energy commodities space. The position reports directly to the Senior Trader and as a Trading Systems Analyst, you'll oversee direct management of our Energy Trading and Risk Management Platformensuring all trades, positions, and resulting PnL are reflected accurately. You'll collaborate closely with Operations to then make sure that deliveries occur flawlessly and work closely with our Portfolio Management team to maintain a clear system snapshot of our book. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Trade capture and entry to Datahive (our ETRM platform) as well as our independent Commercial Dashboard against which it is reconciled 
  • Datahive allocation and matching of buys and sells in accordance with guidance from the Portfolio Manager 
  • Counterparty communication: soliciting monthly forecasts, nominations, and actual volumes 
  • Alignment with operations on execution, tackling any system issues or nuance to maintain intra-day accuracy of book positions and PnL 
  • Produce monthly Payment Packages (clear understanding of trade obligations so as to produce these monthly summaries) 
  • Reconciliation support in conjunction with Operations, Risk, and the Portfolio Manager 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 0-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, math, business or other related major is a plus, but not required
  • Proficiency in Excel (and/or VBA) and Python 
  • Strong analytical skills and proactive attitude  
  • Comfort with large data sets, detail oriented, prefers a task oriented role 
  • Familiarity with essential trading concepts and keen interest in financial and (environmental) commodities markets  
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to multi-task 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

STX intends on offering the selected candidate a competitive base salary withing the range of $60.000 USD – $86.000 based on several objective factors such as relevant experience, location, holistic skillset, and applicable licenses and certifications. The candidate may also be eligible for discretionary compensation asdeterminedannually within thecompanyfiscal year.
