Trades Maintenance Laborer (GUADALUPE)

<div style="text-align: center"><br>The Trades Maintenance Laborer performs helper or apprentice levels of work maintaining and repairing facilities, grounds, equipment or their parts in direct support of a process, system, facility or grounds.</div><ol><li>Assist the Trades Maintenance Technician, Trades Maintenance Specialist, and others in the performance of their duties. </li><li>Perform operator-level inspections, servicing, and maintenance of assigned tools, equipment, and vehicles. </li><li>Perform non-skilled replacement, repair, or adjustment of facility or system components. </li><li>Prepare and clean areas or equipment undergoing repair, painting, maintenance, construction or other related activity. </li><li>Cut, trim, seed and apply fertilize, and under supervision apply herbicides/pesticides to turf grasses, soils, trees, and ornament shrubs. </li><li>Maintain security and accountability for all tools, equipment and materials required in performance of duties, particularly in a medical, detention, or correctional setting. </li><li>Maintain and use safety and personal protective equipment. </li><li>Perform housekeeping services to maintain safe, clean, and orderly conditions in the workplace. </li><li>Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by supervisor or director.</li></ol><strong>Knowledge of:</strong><ul><li>Operation and maintenance of basic hand and powered tools, equipment and materials encountered in area of specialization of assigned work area; </li><li>Typical hazards of the assigned work areas or encountered in the area of specialization and safety procedures and equipment required; </li><li>Yaqui culture, customs, resources and traditions and/or a willingness to learn.</li></ul> <br><strong>Skills and Abilities:</strong><ul><li>Perform helper-level duties in the area of assignment; </li><li>Operate and perform operator-level maintenance of powered equipment in the area of assignment; </li><li>Relate to homeowners and tenants in a friendly, courteous and considerate manner; </li><li>Work outside in varying weather conditions; </li><li>Follow oral and written instructions; </li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public; </li><li>Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; </li><li>Operate a variety of office equipment, including a computer and related software applications; </li><li>Good communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, management, Council members, and the public. Have ability to sufficiently exchange or convey information and receive verbal and written work instructions.</li></ul>Completion of the eighth grade and six (6) months general experience in construction field; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.<div style="text-align: center"><strong>AND</strong></div><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED is preferred.</li></ul><strong><u>Special Requirements:</u></strong><ul><li>Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License;</li><li>This position will require the Incumbent to work non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends;</li><li>Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain one within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a cureent Level 1 Clearance Card will result in termination.&nbsp;</li></ul><br>
