Your success story starts here...

TEAM AND ROLE:

You will join a growing trading function focused on building best-in-class gas trading and shipping capabilities across Europe. The team is in an exciting phase of development, transitioning from ad-hoc hedging to a more structured, value-driven trading approach. In this role, you will take ownership of optimizing gas exposures, improving trading processes, and supporting the expansion of physical and financial gas capabilities. You will work closely with commercial, and operations teams to enhance decision-making, reduce costs, and unlock value across increasingly complex and volatile gas markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute paper and OTC hedging strategies for physical gas, LNG, and BBK exposures, minimizing value leakage.
  • Build and enhance gas trading capabilities, including tools, processes, and market access across key European regions.
  • Develop real-time position tracking and hedging frameworks, including sensitivity analysis and forecasting under uncertainty.
  • Establish pricing methodologies for gas components in commercial deals, factoring in market dynamics, execution risks, and hedging efficiency.
  • Optimize optionality in portfolios (e.g. BBK flex and LNG contracts) and improve P&L transparency and risk reporting.

Key Requirements

  • 3 - 5+ experience as a gas trader with a solid understanding of European gas markets.
  • Strong expertise in paper gas trading and OTC hedging for physical exposures.
  • Familiarity with LNG, balancing, and capacity products (e.g. BBK), with basic options knowledge preferred.
  • Proven ability to build processes, tools, or capabilities from the ground up (project management mindset).
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-moving and volatile markets.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Competitive remuneration package
  • Pension scheme contributions
  • Strong focus on personal and professional development
  • Sport and training opportunities
  • Assistance with relocation to the respective office location

DIVERSITY STATEMENT

We encourage and welcome applications from candidates of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to enhance our team and contribute to a more inclusive work environment. Diversity, inclusion, and belonging are more than just concepts. They are part of our everyday work culture, ensuring employees feel welcomed and build meaningful connections.

At STX, we ask applicants to think holistically about roles. If the roles sounds exciting and a great fit for you, but some of the criteria or required experience doesn't 100% line up, we still encourage you to apply!
