Minimum Requirements: 

• 5 years Linux Administration 

• Ability to read, author, and modify shell scripts 

• 5 years experience with enterprise level production administration 

• Experience troubleshooting and analyzing Linux and Linux resident application issues 

• Perform Linux upgrades, service installations, and upgrades (apt-get, rpm, etc.) 

• Working knowledge of problem management and escalation processes 

• Hardware and Software Monitoring including Network performance 

• Experience developing of Capacity Plans, Runbooks, and other operational documentation 

• Experience with design, management, implementation of Backup, Disaster Recovery, and/or High Availability solutions 

• Hadoop Security Methodologies (Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR) 

• Ability to travel to client sites up to 50% Desired Experience: 

• Production Hadoop Platform Administration (Apache Foundation, Cloudera, MapR, Hortonworks, IBM Big Insights) 

• Knowledge of Perl, Python or other scripting languages 

• Hadoop Monitoring tools (Nagios, Ganglia, CDH CM, Ambari) 

• Hadoop production installation experience 

• Securing Hadoop clusters 

• Performance and capacity management 

• Web & Cloud platforms (Amazon S3, EC2, Redshift, Rackspace, OpenShift) 

• Web/App Server & SOA administration (Tomcat, JBoss, etc.)
