Job Description

What you’ll do

You’ll be part of a behavioral health team helping people build stability, independence, and confidence in their daily lives. Working in settings like group homes, crisis centers, and residential programs, you’ll connect with clients, support their goals, and create a safe, positive environment for recovery.

A big part of this role is building real relationships, even with clients who may be hesitant or hard to engage—using compassionate, trauma-informed approaches.

Your day-to-day

  • Build trust with clients through genuine, respectful interactions

  • Get to know each person’s goals, strengths, and needs to offer personalized support

  • Help clients navigate daily life (routines, appointments, relationships, and community activities)

  • Lead or participate in activities like life skills, recreation, and wellness groups

  • Support personal care and hygiene when needed

  • Observe and document client progress and share updates with the care team

  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming living environment

  • Assist with meals, light housekeeping, and basic program operations

  • Provide transportation for clients when required

  • (If certified) safely administer medications

What we’re looking for

  • Strong people skills and the ability to connect with a wide range of individuals

  • Calm, professional approach in high-stress situations

  • Interest in mental health, recovery, and helping others grow

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)

  • Willingness to complete required certifications (medication aide, food handling, driver’s license if applicable)

Bonus points if you have

  • Experience in mental health, caregiving, or community support roles

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care or recovery-based approaches

  • Lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery
