Role: Technology Practice Manager + Intelligence & Insights Lead
This hybrid and strategic position combines team leadership, client management, and public relations consulting with expertise in data analysis, AI solutions, research, and earned media monitoring and reporting. The result is a pivotal role for the Burson Peru office, focused on leading technology sector communications and agency innovation applying a rigorous data-driven approach.
Profile Summary
A strategic and bilingual (SPA/ENG) communications and public relations leader for Burson Peru, specializing in the technology, innovation, and data analytics. This profile serves as the day-to-day anchor of client-agency relationships within the technology practice, combining solid account management experience with the ability to translate complex data and competitive intelligence into high-impact narratives (Data Storytelling) and communication strategies delivering measurable ROI. The role is responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams, guiding data-driven decision-making, and providing high-level counsel to corporate leaders in the tech and innovation sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic & Business Competencies
High-Level Consulting & Advisory: Ability to structure and deliver business counsel to executive leaders (C-Suite). Act as the strategic day-to-day partner for clients, ensuring operational excellence and delivering results that exceed expectations.
Impact & ROI Measurement: Designing measurement frameworks to optimize PR initiatives, ensuring a clear and transparent return on investment for the client.
Business Development & Entrepreneurship: A proactive attitude to identify growth opportunities, lead the design of creative and strategic communication proposals, and attract new clients to the agency.
Fiscal Responsibility: Accurately develop and manage budgets for assigned campaigns and accounts, ensuring project profitability.
Mentorship & Positive Leadership: Direct, motivate, and develop a team of public relations professionals (executives, writers, junior data analysts, and interns).
- Technical Competencies in Data & Intelligence
Provide Data-Driven Counsel: Deliver actionable counsel to business leaders using insights extracted from data analysis and competitive intelligence.
Monitoring, Research & Reporting: Mastery of real-time data monitoring and trend analysis, as well as experience in research and the effective reporting of communication activity results, ROI, and connection to business objectives.
Analytical and Data Tools: Advanced knowledge of industry-leading platforms such as Brandwatch, Meltwater, Talkwalker, as well as data visualization and dashboard tools such as Power BI.
AI Applications: Advanced understanding of AI platforms, generative and cognitive AI capabilities and their use in business and communication applications, including the creation of agents and data analysis.
Data Storytelling: Exceptional ability to transform complex communication metrics into visual, clear, simple, and highly persuasive presentations.
Global Collaboration: Work closely with Burson's regional and Americas Data & Intelligence hubs to exchange analytical methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Evangelizing Innovation: Promote the use of AI tools and agile methodologies internally to optimize agency workflows in Peru.
- Technology & Innovation Sector Knowledge
Tech Ecosystem: Deep understanding of tech business models (B2B, B2C, B2B2C) and familiarity with key trends: Generative AI (GenAI), Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
Strategic Planning: Design annual communication plans, PR strategies, and launch campaigns for highly innovative tech products.
Tech Evangelism/Communication: Ability to decode highly technical concepts, translating them into accessible and engaging language for diverse audiences, media, and key opinion leaders.
PESO Model Mastery: Integrate paid, earned, social, and owned channels under unified strategies optimized by analytics. Oversee and execute media strategies with local and national press, specialized tech journalists, and key content creators.
Crisis Management: Provide steady and strategic leadership when dealing with complex situations or reputational risks for agency clients.
Profile Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in strategic communications, public relations agencies, or corporate communication departments, directly working with leading brands in the technology or innovation sectors.
- Leadership: At least 3 years of experience managing and mentoring multidisciplinary teams.
- Languages: Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken - C1/C2 level), with a proven ability to interact with global clients and stakeholders.
- Soft Skills: Positive positive leadership by example, strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and adaptability to demanding fast-paced environments.
- Education & Valued Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields (with a strong technical orientation).
- Certifications, courses, or relevant practical experience in Communications Analytics, Data Storytelling, Digital PR, or AI productivity tools.
