Job Description Summary

Position: Production Engineering
Location: Predominantly based in Hamburg , with international travel required.
Type: On-site with potential offshore work.

Job Description

Tasks

  • Ensure safe and efficient wind turbine (WTG) operations by improving preventive and corrective maintenance processes.

  • Develop standardized technical solutions in collaboration with customers to meet SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) targets.

  • Support GE Vernova’s Lean initiatives by identifying process improvements and increase the efficiency.

  • Facilitate technical queries from customers to GEV Engineering (FPM) to ensure exceptional customer service.

  • Manage and streamline documentation processes, including approvals and coordination with engineering teams.

  • Prepare Maintenance Instructions and Troubleshooting Guides for operational deployment, including safety, parts and tool requirements.

  • Support alarm-handling feedback to standardize and enhance corrective maintenance procedures.

  • Promote safe systems of work, including LV/HV procedures and Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR).

  • Coordinate with engineering teams the issue prioritization, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.

  • Apply structured problem-solving tools (e.g., DMAIC) to drive continuous improvement.

  • Provide guidance to planning, supply chain, and parts teams regarding spare parts and tooling requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Degree in electrical engineering or a technical education with a strong electrical focus.

  • Extensive professional experience in Technical Support, ideally within the wind industry.

  • Capable of working offshore at the wind farms. GWO certificates are welcome.

  • Significant experience in offshore WTG maintenance would be a plus.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, global environment with remote teams, acting as a strong team player who enables change and drives work to completion.

  • Self-driven and strongly motivated, with the ability to take ownership of technical issues, proactively follow up on actions, and communicate clearly with technicians, engineering teams and customers.

  • Strong capability in office and cloud-based software tools, used for technical documentation, data analysis, maintenance planning and coordination with engineering and field teams.

  • Capable to communicate on an international level & being proactive to find the right point of contact.

  • Proven capability to evaluate technical tasks in a structured way, coordinate with other teams, and drive root-cause and corrective-action processes to closure.
