JOB SUMMARY

Corteva Agriscience is seeking a Technical Specialist within the Global Regulatory Sciences Operations group. The successful candidate will collaborate with global team to support crop residue study database management, conduct human exposure risk assessments for agrochemicals, and support the wider Crop Protection Regulatory Sciences function as required. In this role, candidate will be part of a growing and multidisciplinary team that is responsible for safety evaluation of new and existing crop protection products. This position is based at Corteva corporate office in Hyderabad, India.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct human health risk assessments and basic hazard evaluations of agrochemical products, with the use scenarios (Good Agricultural Practices) and draft dossiers on the same to support global risk assessment team.
  • Assist in managing crop residue study databases, QC of residue draft study reports and summarizing residue data as per internal templates to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support safety evaluations in alignment with Global Residue group function.
  • Run residue forecast model to predict residue concentrations using relevant input parameters in various crops and analyze projected residue profiles.
  • Support regulatory submissions by responding to general and specific information requests from internal stake holders using various information science tools and techniques.
  • Conduct literature searches and relevant data evaluation to support product safety reviews and global product registration activities.
  • Effectively prioritize work and manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting project timelines and quality expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Master’s degree in agriculture (crop-protection/agronomy/crop-physiology) or related field with 0-3 years’ experience.
  • Although on job training will be provided but familiarity with dietary and non-dietary risk assessment of agrochemicals, Good Agricultural Practices, residue chemistry field studies or experience in conducting field experiments under and GLP are desirable.
  • Familiarity with basic agriculture practices including agrochemical field spraying and the concepts of routes of human exposure, is helpful.
  • Basic understanding of experimental and/or regulatory toxicology including health reference doses (e.g. RfDs, MRLs, ADI) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of global pesticide regulatory guidelines (e.g. OECD, EPA, EFSA, FAO) and exposure risk assessment tools (EFSA), exposure to dossier preparation and scientific writing skills is an added benefit.
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry and reporting.
  • Experience in searching for scientific data, information and Database management skills are desirable.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills.
  • Willing to learn and quickly adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn and utilize scientific/ regulatory/ data management tools.
