Job description
Acme's growing team is seeking talented people to help build a service that helps people find and enjoy the world's premium content when, where and how they want it. If you're the kind of person who loves complex technology, thrives in a collaborative environment, and jumps at the opportunity to take on new challenges, Acme may be the place for you.
Acme is looking for a highly Technical Program Manager that has experience working closely with engineers to integrate back-end services into consumer facing products. This includes enhancing existing features as well as building new tools that allow the product owners to manage the user experience across the Acme service.
Program Managers at Acme are expected to be partners in crime with engineers and ensure they have time to focus on coding. You are the front line to help separate the wheat from the chaff and make sure critical information is shared and noise is kept to a minimum. This requires you to be intimately familiar with technology. You should have a solid knowledge of data schemas and how to query them, the ability to easily read an API and understand how it interacts with its consumers, and at the same time maintain a ‘big picture’ view of how all our services and systems interact.
You will also need to move quickly; if you’re a big fan of Microsoft Project, Acme may not be the place for you. We use a wiki, calendar and whatever agile tools the team discovers work best. Above all else, you are expected to manage the inevitable change over the lifecycle of a project in such a way that deadlines are met, products are great, and team members are happy.
