As a part of the Third Party Data Center Operations team, you will provide technical due diligence for site selection, sustains and improves the quality of vendor operated data centers, and mitigates and resolves conflict for critical work risk.

In this role, you will focus on reliable operation of the mechanical and electrical infrastructure of data centers, working with the vendor operator for success. You will be involved in collocation operations for electrical, cooling, and IT infrastructure. You will partner with the Google Data Center Engineering team, Hardware Operations, Network Infrastructure, and third-party data center vendors and operators with a focus on operability, maintainability, and reliability. You will represent the operations organization, and ensure operability, maintainability, and reliability are critical criteria for Google assets.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Germany: €112000 - €115000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
Netherlands: €114000 - €117000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Own third-party data centers operation within an area/region with full accountability for this area tactically.
  • Support site selection process through operational and technical knowledge.
  • Perform operational assessment and risk analysis of third-party data centers sites.
  • Keep main stakeholders informed about current work and discuss decisions and directions with them.
  • Contribute to focus area strategy and setting strategy for smaller local groups.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 9 years of experience in data center operations, critical facilities management, or facility commissioning.
  • Experience working with mechanical, electrical, or control systems infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Design for Operability (DfO) principles, or integrating operations and maintenance requirements into facility design and construction phases.
  • Experience evaluating detailed engineering designs, blueprints, schematics, and Sequence of Operations (SOO) documents.
  • Solid understanding of the operations and maintenance of electrical, control systems, and mechanical.
  • Proven ability to track complex project risks, manage commissioning documentation handovers, and drive technical issues to resolution.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to act as a bridge between design, construction, and operations teams.
