Iron Mountain is seeking an analytical and highly motivated Technical Accounting Manager to join our Global Controllership team.

In this role, you will be responsible for addressing and driving emerging technical accounting issues, ensuring symmetry in accounting practices across business units, and directly supporting the company's financial reporting and global audit processes.

You will step into a collaborative dynamic within the Global Controllership division, reporting directly to the Director of Global M&A and IT Accounting Center of Excellence.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Technical Accounting & Interpretation: Support the precise application of complex US GAAP and IFRS, specifically addressing business combinations, acquisition of assets, divestments, equity method investments, joint ventures, non-controlling interest, consolidation conclusions, software, intangible asset valuation, long-term asset impairments, and goodwill impairments.

  • Financial Documentation & Reporting: Author highly detailed, technical accounting memorandums to document transaction conclusions for key internal stakeholders and external auditors, while reviewing footnote disclosures to support quarterly and annual financial statements.

  • Policy Standardization & Governance: Maintain strict symmetry and consistency in accounting policies across all global business units, aligning key judgments, assumptions, reviews, and procedural protocols.

  • Cross-Functional Liaison & Audit Support: Partner closely with Regional Controllership, Accounting teams, designated centers of excellence, and finance shared services outsource providers to proactively resolve material reporting issues and streamline the global audit process.

What You’ll Bring

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5-7 years of experience in financial statement auditing and reporting.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and extensive audit experience within a public accounting firm or a large, multi-national public company.

  • Complex Judgment & Interpretive Thinking: A proven ability to independently evaluate nuanced accounting standards, conduct in-depth analyses, and develop innovative compliance solutions.

  • Stakeholder Management & Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills with a track record of driving cross-functional alignment between corporate departments, regional business units, and senior leadership.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant designation.
