Tech lead - TikTok Search

Description

Our team is responsible for providing TikTok search users with first-class search experience by building a strong and robust infrastructure and platform to support product fast iteration and key feature development. In our team, you'll have the opportunity to take part in developing the key features on TikTok Search, understand how TikTok Search could be evolved to be a multi-billion-user product and first-handed experience how user request varies on this giant from time to time. Detailed responsibilities include but not limited to:
1. Product Development: Support fast iterations of TikTok Search business and further enable the product growth.
2. Performance & Stability: Build a fast and robust Search product by keeping optimizing system performance and improving service stability.
3. Search Engineering Infrastructure: Guarantee reasonable Search architecture governance to ensure that the overall system operates smoothly.
4. Search offline processing: Construct a high freshness multi-media index and provide a reliable offline data support for Search Engine.
5. Backend engineering team building, management and development.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant majors
- Excellent problem-analysis and -solving skills, have industry experience in building backend services for large-scale consumer-facing applications.
- Good at coding, data structure and basic algorithm
- Good team communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Good understanding on how modern Search system is built or/and how modern Search product should be evolved.
- Industry experience in building a consumer-facing Search product.
- Experience in building a medium-size backend technical team from scratch.
