COMPENSATION
- Competitive contract rates commensurate with experience, paid per agreed terms.
- Engagement contingent on a background check clearing you to work in public school settings.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
- Provide specialized instruction meeting the unique educational needs of students with visual impairments
- Conduct assessments (including FVE/LMA), interpret results, and contribute to IEP development
- Participate in ARD and IEP meetings
- Consult with educators, parents, and special education personnel to build understanding and support
- Advise on environmental adjustments and collaborate on academic adaptations
- Ensure timely provision of educational materials in accessible formats (braille, large print, digital)
- Deliver instruction across the Expanded Core Curriculum, including low vision skills, daily living, and career development
- Manage scheduling and documentation of services across a multi-campus caseload
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Texas educator certification with Visual Impairments endorsement
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong family engagement and communication skills
PRACTICAL NOTES
- Regular travel between campuses within your service area
- Adaptability across diverse school environments and student needs
