£8.66 - £9.66/Per hour

Educating people on Water

Are you an educator interesting in contributing to the delivery of the education programme here at Rutland Water? Are you capable of supervising school groups on visits to the Nature Reserve and Reservoir, then why not join Anglian Water as a Teacher Naturalist?

You will be assisting with pre-visit preparation and clearing away after schools have left as well as keeping educational resources in good order. Your responsibility will include ensuring the health and safety of school groups and working with accompany teachers to ensure the safety and security of pupils.

Finally, you will be assisting with the preparation of teaching resources and information packs for schools while contributing to the continuing development and excellence of the education programmes at Rutland Environment Education Centre.

What does it take to be a Teacher Naturalist?

  • Teaching qualification or relevant Environment Science Degree
  • Knowledge of Water and Natural Reserves and Reservoir
  • Excellent customer service skills especially in an educational setting
  • Excellent communication and social skills
  • Ability to be flexible and willingness to learn
  • Availability to work weekends
