The Tax Specialist, Senior is distinguished from the Tax Specialist by the regular performance of complex level responsibilities<ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Responsible for receiving, accounting, and recording payment transactions relative to property tax receipts from individual taxpayers, lending institutions, escrow, and title companies.</li><li>Complete tax roll corrections as needed and calculates interest and penalties on tax bills.</li><li>Process tax adjustments on tax liens as needed.</li><li>Work with ADOT on personal property delinquencies.&nbsp;</li><li>Responsible for the research for the State of Arizona deeding process.</li><li>Apply and reconcile refunds to accounts on tax charges.</li><li>Responsible for processing and verifying default judgments and treasury deeds.&nbsp;</li><li>May process property splits/combinations by reviewing and analyzing parcel history, ownership changes and identifying any reconciliation errors.</li><li>May perform lead duties.</li><li>Promote and adhere to the workplace values of accountability, commitment, and teamwork to help enrich lives beyond expectation.</li><li>Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted County information.</li><li>Perform other related duties as required.</li></ul> <br><strong><u>POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES:&nbsp;</u></strong><br><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>None.</li></ul><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Associate’s degree in business or related field.</li><li>Five (5) years of bookkeeping or real/personal property experience.</li><li>Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements.</li></ul><br><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>English grammar, spelling and basic math.</li><li>Standard office practices, procedures and equipment.</li><li>Computers and software programs to include use of electronic spreadsheet and word processing applications.</li><li>Data entry and verification procedures.</li><li>Operating and utilizing modern office machines as necessary to include copiers, fax transmittal machines, calculator and the use of computer keyboards and related software and peripheral equipment.</li><li>Communicating and maintaining professionalism with the public, Treasury Team, peers and work contacts.</li><li>Successfully participate in extensive public contact for extended periods at a rapid pace and sometimes under stressful and confrontational situations.</li><li>Type accurately and at a speed necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.</li><li>Make rapid and accurate mathematical computations.</li><li>Research and verify information.</li><li>Work neatly and systematically in order to accurately maintain up-to-date records and documentation.</li><li>Interpret and research utilizing Arizona Revised Statutes.</li><li>Use prudent and reasonable judgment in applying established guidelines to solve technical challenges.</li><li>Follow written and verbal instructions.</li><li>Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.</li><li>Must be able to perform the physical requirements of this classification with or without a reasonable accommodation.</li></ul><br>&nbsp;<br><strong><u>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</u></strong><br>The work requires Independent body mobility to stand, move, bend, and sit for prolonged periods of time and/or drive a vehicle.
