Apply to this jobThe Tax Department Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Corporate Tax Department in the area of tax processing, general administrative duties, and other projects as assigned.
Position Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
Responsible for the day-to-day planning, problem solving and execution of the following duties:
- Provide tax accounting, clerical and administrative support to the tax department in a manner that optimizes efficiency, resources and client satisfaction.
- Review, code and process payment via checks, ACH and wire transfers for tax department.
- Prepare deposits and related JEs.
- Generate intercompany invoices to allocate expenses.
- Open and distribute mail.
- Sort, track and handle correspondence (both mail and email).
- Assist in organizational/record keeping tasks.
- Assist with requesting and reconciliation of monthly customer statements from vendors
- Maintain sales and use tax calendar to meet filing deadlines
- Process (type, proof and mail) various types of documents, including letters and general correspondence.
- Provide information with respect to the annual report filings for all legal entities.
- Respond to inquiries made by taxing authorities with respect to returns filed and tax paid.
- Assist in special projects as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in an Administrative support role, preferably in Accounting or Tax department
- Prior experience in a Public Accounting firm or other professional services firm is a plus.
- 1-2 years of experience in the income tax, sales tax or accounting fields is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills
