Job Summary:

We are building a talent pipeline of professionals interested in developing their careers to support LUMA Energy’s work to rebuild and improve Puerto Rico’s electrical grid. Be considered for future opportunities that contribute to the transformation of the island’s energy system.

Reporting to the Supervisor/Manager this entry-level position is responsible for coordinating and supporting technical activities. The role requires technical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and excellent teamwork skills to be successful.
• Provides technical assistance in support of others.
• Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction

Job Description:

  • Performs assignments in specialized areas requiring technical expertise. 

  • Reviews functional specifications for completeness and consideration of practical limitations. 

  • Coordinates activities as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. 

  • May support the review of technical documentation. 

  • Supports basic work planning, coordination, budgeting, and cost estimating. 

  • May support the development and updates of single line diagrams, and equipment specifications for engineering review and approval.  

  • Supports material procurement.

  • Collaborates with activities in the QA/QC process. 

  • Provides basic technical support to field and construction groups. 

  • Utilizes and improves processes and standards. 

  • Provides reporting, including presentations to work groups and management. 

  • Position may be required to work extended hours including major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Additional Job Description:

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or in Electrical Engineering from a college accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
  • 0 - 2 years of professional engineering experience.

  • Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
  • Team player and ability to prioritize assignments to meet commitments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3.2 GPA or higher preferred.
  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline.
  • Working knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform routine assignments.
  • Experience in utility industry trade organizations.
  • Experience with MS Office, 365, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
