Job description

The Systems Administrator is responsible for administering and supporting Enterprise packaged solutions. From initial planning through delivery and post production support, they will play a central role in activities including validation and alignment of business requirements from a technical perspective, solution installation, solution maintenance as well as operational support.

The successful candidate will ensure the solution performs according to service level agreements and respond to issues accordingly. They will provide technical guidance concerning product capabilities, maintain an understanding of Enterprise packaged software functions and capabilities with specialized knowledge of how these solutions are implemented at NJM. This technical role participates in all phases of the software development lifecycle including analysis, design, development and testing and works collaboratively to implement solutions with other business application development teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support installation and maintenance of Enterprise packaged solutions.  Perform configuration management, release management, user provisioning and change management activities as required by Enterprise packaged solutions.
  • Identify reoccurring technical issues and develop tactical and strategic plans to resolve the problems and prevent them from recurring. Troubleshoot issues with end users, technical staff and/or vendors to arrive at prompt solutions for critical problems.
  • Collaborate with other areas in IT to effectively support the Enterprise packaged solutions. (Database, Network, Storage, Security, Server) Work with project technical leads to resolve complex technical issues and understand the effects that new system functionality will have on the solution and take appropriate action to ensure service level agreements are met.
  • Understand and work from software requirements. Translate requirements into technical designs that leverage Enterprise packaged software functionality (e.g. out-of-the-box capabilities) to address business functional needs. Collaborate with technical leads to facilitate the development of robust technical solutions. Participate in proof of concepts, and technology evaluations.
  • Build a deep understanding of all Enterprise packaged solutions and associated modules. Stay current with the vendor's product technical strategy and continually assess and recommend opportunities to improve the organization’s use of the solution. Perform impact analysis on Enterprise packaged software technical alerts, Upgrades, Service Packs and Hot fixes. Create test procedures to assess the impact of OS version upgrades on system performance. Develop migration procedures. Interact with Enterprise package software vendors and user groups to advocate for NJM's needs as a product stakeholder.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with software development life cycle including design of solutions using sound architecture concepts, configuration of applications, writing and execution of use cases and test plans, and the delivery of software solutions.
  • Experience in Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and/or Document Archiving and Imaging.
  • Ability to work independently and to multitask, handling multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
  • Strong communication, analytical, design and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Windows Server Environment, IIS, SQL Server Database, XML and Web Services.
  • Experience with version control systems (Team Foundation Server, GitHub etc.)
  • 3 -5 years experience with Document Management & Imaging package solutions (Hyland OnBase, Quadient Inspire etc.)
  • 3 - 5 years experience in the IT industry developing or maintaining business applications/solutions with a focus on P&C Insurance.
  • 3 -5 years writing SQL (T-SQL) queries.
  • 3 years working with cloud based (AWS, Azure etc.) services.

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.

Pay Range: $88,795-$111,998
