Day in the Life

  • Partner with Land and Project Development teams to identify route constraints and support initial access planning.
  • Coordinate pre-walk meetings and field walkthroughs to identify risks, concerns, and constructability challenges.
  • Develop project assumptions and communicate requirements to surveying and engineering contractors.
  • Prepare and distribute RFPs, cost spreadsheets, survey standards, and other project documentation.
  • Support contractor selection by evaluating bids, coordinating awards, and communicating outcomes.
  • Manage logistics for field activities, including scheduling walkthroughs, securing approvals, and supporting safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate field findings and incorporate necessary project adjustments.
  • Track and document project changes, including route modifications, design updates, and change orders, while communicating impacts to stakeholders.

The Survey Coordinator is responsible for resolving sophisticated problems and interpreting our customers' needs. This role applies standards practices to improve processes and standards.

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Coordinates survey functions with business partners to ensure compliance with company and industry standards and government codes, and development of practical and cost-effective designs
  • Projects cost analysis and estimates
  • Understands applicable states' jurisdictional minimum technical standards for property conveyance and condemnation; responsible for securing professional certifications
  • Supports the land survey policy, procedures and standards
  • Supports project management; supervises land survey contractors and communicates project status to management and customers
  • Identifies and resolves disputes and claims
  • Provides on the ground preliminary survey work
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

  • Required: High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of five (5) years related experience
  • Preferred: Minimum of eight (8) years related experience

Other Requirements:

  • Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
  • Basic knowledge of As built drawings, piping, mechanical, structural, instrumentation and electrical
  • Proficiency in Surveying Principles, GPS, Mapping, GIS, Civil alignments and Survey Calculations
