Job description

If you are someone who is ready to take on any challenge and enjoys stepping out of your comfort zone, then Cheops is the right place for you. At Cheops you will find a community of driven and committed people. The ideal place to give your career a boost.

What do you do as a Support Engineer?

As a Support Engineer you are an important link in supporting the IT infrastructure at our customers on site. You will also proactively look for solutions to recurring problems. In this way you help clients to focus on their core business.

Your challenges

You are responsible for solving user problems. This ranges from applications that won't start up to more complex challenges such as virtual environments that fail to work.

You identify and analyse problems, solve them and provide clear documentation. You consider clear communication, both with the end user and your colleagues, to be an important part of your job.

You formulate concrete initiatives for improvement and innovation, in collaboration with colleagues. This can, for example, range from using images or scripts for more efficient use of your time to innovating software and hardware to create a better user experience.

You manage your time autonomously. For more complex problems where you lack expertise, you take the initiative to involve the 'expert' colleague (administrator or engineer) and develop yourself in this way. In addition, you manage the resources that are necessary to take the user experience to a high level.

You can dynamically prioritise, handle and escalate incidents in a timely way where necessary, keeping an eye on both quality and customer focus.

Your talent

You have the talent to really help users. You view problems as an opportunity, you remain calm and you get a kick out of the compliments that follow after a user has had a top experience.

Must-haves for the Support Engineer:

  • Thorough knowledge of client computing, peripherals and Office applications
  • Basic knowledge of networks
  • An MCSA Windows client certificate is a plus
