This is a remote, full-time, 1099 position supporting a distribution company in the marine dock supplies industry based in Tampa, Florida, USA. We are looking for a sourcing expert to assist with locating and negotiating product supply options, both domestically and internationally. This person will also support research and development of new product ideas and suppliers that align with our business goals. Other responsibilities will include pricing analysis of competitor products, inventory management oversight, and some revision of purchase orders.
Company Brief:
We are a privately-owned company specializing in the distribution of marine dock parts and supplies. With a strong e-commerce presence and growing team, we are expanding our sourcing and supplier strategy to include product development, pricing analysis, and new partnerships. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in supply chain coordination.
Core Responsibilities:
- Research and vet manufacturers and suppliers, particularly within the US and overseas.
- Negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers
- Source new product lines to support business growth.
- Support pricing analysis and product comparison research.
- Maintain a detailed database of product and supplier information.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing with strategic goals.
- Coordinate with operations and sales teams for product availability and delivery schedules.
- Assist with special projects related to operations and supply chain efficiency.
Role Classification: Independent Contractor, 1099
Requirements
Required Availability:
- ~40+ hours per week, Monday to Friday, primarily during 8 am to 5 pm EST. Must be able to adjust working hours as needed to coordinate with overseas suppliers or resolve time-sensitive matters.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or a related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain operations, or e-commerce procurement.
- 2+ years of direct experience negotiating with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Strong research skills with the ability to evaluate new products and suppliers for potential fit.
- Ability to perform pricing comparisons and margin analysis.
- Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience supporting US-based companies in a remote capacity is preferred.

Benefits
Compensation:
- Monthly rate of $1,500–$2,500, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Initial compensation may be slightly lower for the first 90 days as the candidate ramps up and completes training.
- Monthly health and wellness reimbursement benefit capped at $50.
- Compensation may start slightly lower during the initial 90-day training and ramp-up period.
