The Supervisor, Interventional Radiology supervises, plans, organizes, and co-ordinates the activities and work flows of the perioperative staff employed in the PACU, SSU, Interventional Radiology, or Cardiology. This position works with the managers and directors within preoperative services. The position also acts as a liaison between perioperative services and IT, customer service, patient accounting, nursing, and the employed and non-employed physicians when appropriate. This position develops, implements, and manages reporting related to this position’s areas of responsibility including but not limited to utilization, charge reconciliation, efficiencies, and quality. The position plans, assesses, implements and evaluates the care for a designated group of patients.

- This position has direct supervisory responsibilities and serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
- Management responsibilities include hiring, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, staff productivity and performance management.
- Work with anesthesia and management to make changes to processes that ensures high quality care.
- Manage nursing supplies inventory by setting up systems to anticipate needs verifying receipt of supplies.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Keep abreast of new procedures, treatments, drugs, equipment related to the care of the postoperative patient to assure progressive Peri-operative care within areas of responsibility.
- Assist department leadership in development of policies, procedures, practices and standards of the department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]
Required Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher level of education and two (2) years of Nursing experience.
- Zero (0) to Two (2) years supervisory/management experience in Interventional Radiology.
- Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of Interventional Radiology.
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing preferred.
- Experience in Healthcare setting.
License, Certification & Clearances
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program.
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance
- Current PALS or completion within one year (1) of hire or transfer into the role.
- Current ACLS or completion within six months (6) of hire or transfer into the role.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
- Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
