About Site

Catalent’s Madison, Wisconsin site is a state‑of‑the‑art biologics development and manufacturing facility supporting customers from research through early‑ and mid‑stage clinical production. Located at 726 Heartland Trail in Madison, the approximately 102,700‑square‑foot GMP facility specializes in mammalian cell line engineering, drug substance biomanufacturing, and biopharmaceutical development, utilizing flexible single‑use systems to enable rapid scale‑up and customization. The site is home to Catalent’s proprietary GPEx® and GPEx® Lightning technologies, which are used to generate high‑yielding mammalian cell lines for biologic therapies, and supports production scales ranging from 50 to 4,000 liters for clinical manufacturing. Following a $45 million expansion announced in 2025, the Madison site has significantly increased capacity, added new equipment, and created approximately 200 highly skilled biohealth jobs, further strengthening its role within Catalent’s global biologics network and Wisconsin’s growing life sciences ecosystem.

Position Summary

We have an opportunity for a Supervisor - Biomanufacturing, Central Services to join our team. In this role, you will oversee biomanufacturing operations in cleanroom environments, ensuring compliance with cGMP standards and production timelines. You will manage equipment operations, documentation, and quality processes while leading audits and supporting regulatory readiness. This position also involves supervising staff, maintaining facilities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Shift: 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM Schedule: Sunday–Wednesday

The Role

  • Oversee biomanufacturing operations in cleanroom environments, ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards and production timelines.

  • Manage operation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, including monitoring core systems and ensuring proper functionality.

  • Author, review, and approve documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Batch Production Records (BPRs), and related materials.

  • Ensure quality and compliance through documentation review, deviation investigations, and adherence to the Quality Management System.

  • Lead audits, serve as a liaison for clients and internal stakeholders, and support regulatory readiness.

  • Supervise staff, including training, mentoring, performance management, and leading team meetings or training sessions.

  • Oversee facility and operational upkeep, including cleanroom housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and qualification/validation activities.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, training program effectiveness, and support change control and process enhancements.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or biomanufacturing field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR

  • High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

  • Physical Requirements: This position requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, reaching with hands and arms, talking, writing, listening. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, carrying, grasping. Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Must comply with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) responsibilities for the position. Working conditions will be Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioned controlled. Ability to operate within a clean room environment as needed.

  • Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent‑sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.
